last night i was all by myself at concessions and this man ordered a beer and large popcorn. there were lots of people behind him. so when i charged him up and said 'that'll be 8.75', he gave me 8. so i said, 'that'll be 8.75' and he said, 'the popcorn is 4.00' and i said, that was only if you get the large combo, which is a large popcorn and large soda. otherwise, popcorn is 4.75. now, i give people free stuff all the time. but if you tell me what i should charge, thats a different approach. i told him that the system wouldn't let me. of course i lied. i said 'it's just a quarter more'. he said 'but you can charge me 8'. i said, 'sorry, i can't do that'...so he opens up his wallet and i see that he has lots of dollar bills, etc. so i charge him up and tell him 'enjoy ur film'...he said 'yea, sure. jerk.' that was the second time he said jerk during our little exchange.

so today some of the guys from 'antigone' and i decided that we're going to perticipate on the campus movie fest event....you sign up in groups and they give u all the tech stuff to shoot a short film under 5 minutes....seven or eight states in the US participate...and we decided to use this idea that i had some time ago. it was about this man with an umbrella who decides to complicate another man's life buy constantly hitting him with the umbrella after the 'normal' man decides to crush a bug at a bus stop. after taking drastic measures to get away from the 'umbrella' man, the 'normal' finally gives in. they do everything together: sleep, shower, eat, work, play- all the while, the 'normal' man is constantly being hit by the umbrella. one day, things change. the 'umbrella' man finds another person who kills a bug. so now the 'normal' man gets his 'normal' life back but he can't live w/o the umbrella man. he goes crazy, which eventually leads him to attack people in the same way that he was attacked......its supposed to be funny. mainly b/c of the differnt scenerios these two man are put in...i think we'll have a good group and since we all get along pretty well this should be something to look forward to.

i like NPR- they are good...and i just revisited their music section of the website and its like finding all this wonderful music that you don't find on mtv or q100....maybe i'm just ignorant about music in general but 'world music' at npr.com is so great...all this foreign, local, independent stuff that is just wonderfully refreshing...

i've done nothing useful during the break....i worked and played games...oh well....i think i'll be able to open books at school at least...i've continued eating fish even after watching 'happy feet'...but i've donated to charity through publix- they really make it easy...just buy a ticket at the checkout and they simply add it to ur total pay- easy...i think my tire has finally gone out...good, b/c i really need to change them i think...thankfully my momma will pay...amrish told me they had tire sales for black friday...my mamma also really irritates me when we go shopping...she'll hold all the clothes in one hand and tell me to go to the register for checkout while she's still looking for more stuff- how can i check out if you have half of the clothes! its so annoying it makes me laugh...and then i realized that i do the same thing when my sister is asking me to take her somewhere...i'll be like, ok, go start the car i'll be right there...uniways...i hope i get a job at CVS pharmacy...i'm ready to leave lefont...jason got cursed/yelled at by george's girlfriend b/c he didn't order enough stuff for the busy days we have now...we didn't have water/hotdog/some beer/popcorn bags!!! how freaking hard is it to order stuff...you make a freaking call! managers are so lazy- they do nothing! they count cash and talk to customers when they complain...one manager even brings his pc to work to play games upstair....oh well, they've been nice to me and given me very flexible schedules and free movies....and candy...and soda...and popcorn...

i don't like holidays b/c i do nothing productive...but i really like the day before the holiday starts and the 1st day of it, but then its downhill...yesterday i saw 'casino royale' with my sis...it wasn't too bad...i expected better b/c of the hype i've been reading into...but i enjoyed it...i'm still somewhat confused w/ the story...but bond was very human- but sometimes too much of a superhero...and he had some really romantic lines and witty ones:

Vesper Lynd: You're not going to let me in there. You've got your armour back on.
James Bond: I have no armour left. You've stripped it from me. Whatever is left of me - whatever I am - I'm yours.

Vesper Lynd: If the only thing left of you was your smile and your little finger, you'd still be more of a man than anyone else.
James Bond: That's because you know what I can do with my little finger...

Vesper Lynd: Am I going to have a problem with you, Bond?
James Bond: No, don't worry. You're not my type.
Vesper Lynd: Smart?
James Bond: Single.

ok, i saw another movie...'happy feet' w/ tash and amri...i actually liked it...it started of as this silly movie about one penguin who just happened to have some unique qualities about him...but by the end of the movie it was something COMPLETELY different...i mean it was like watching sandler's 'click' where it turned into this stupid serious movie..except 'happy feet' wasn't stupid...it was just blatant about global warming and fisery and its negative impact on the penguins...i think its a great approach...so what if important issues are addressed very very openly in movies for 6 year olds- someone's watchings it- 44 million dollar weekend! thats a lot of people and $ and it wasn't just kids watching....

today i saw 'babel' and i really enjoyed it...alejandro gonzalez is great...i saw his '21 gram' the other day and they follow the same structure and they really drain you, emotionally but they're so well done and easy to relate to...and i saw 'borat' w/ amrish and he didn't laugh but i laughed and it was pretty funny...there was one thing in it that i've never seen two men do on film...gonzales pointed out that there are 3 mexican directors, including himself, who are all releasing films about immigration/terrorism that take place either now, in the past, or in the future...its all a coincidence that there being released almost at the same time but i'm excited about all of them...and i really liked brad pitt in babel, he made me cry....and there were lots of non-actors who were so great...good stuff...
